Gallery: Christopher Lee’s Short Story Collections

It was pretty common back in the day for celebrities to be the face of short story collections – Alfred Hitchcock did dozens of them, for instance. Horror icon Christopher Lee also fronted a series of books in the 1970s. Lee was well read and knew many of the stories (and their writers), which allowed him to append introductions to each story and so give his presence a legitimacy that other might not have had, even though the books were actually edited by hard-working writers Peter Haining and Michel Parry.

And here’s Lee’s autobiography, which uses a cover that would fit in nicely with this series.
